    • Expenses includes
      • The neighborhood potluck dinner
      • Annual donations to West Middle and Sunset Elementary School’s gardens through the Community Mercantile Education Outreach Program
    • Income includes annual dues
      • 102 household members and 15 landlord members
        • 79% renewal of households
        • 72% renewal of landlords
  • Old Business
    • LAN update (Webber): Discussed May, June and July LAN meeting minutes which are available on the LAN website.
      • There are 12 member neighborhoods this year
      • Making smaller homes more possible with breaks on permits and discussions of zoning and code changes with regard to property size.
      • Crossing of Tennessee at 7th: crosswalk across Tennessee at 7th has been proposed by OWLNA, which was supported by the Traffic Safety Commission but the City prioritization policy did not favor the crosswalk, and LAN discussed policy bias against central neighborhoods, as well as area traffic violations and obstacles to enforcement. TN Crosswalk is 275th on the list of projects.
      • Transit hub: Schwegler opposes Stewart Avenue location. The location at 15th and Crestline, currently owned by KU, is under discussion.
      • 9th Street Corridor infrastructure work is approved on June 19, 2018 and work has started.
      • Sidewalks: $800,000 budgeted by City for 2019 for the Sidewalk Hazard Mitigation Program.
    • Web Site report (Paul): Website is working. SHNA EC minutes, LAN update, and Kansas Leadership Center recognition to be published.
  • New Business
    • Kansas Leadership Center’s Best Neighborhoods in Kansas for 2018: Sunset Hill is given honorable mention
    • School pickup traffic on Crestline (Faye Hale): Discussion of letter from Vicky Douglas with regard to parking on Crestline for pick-up of students from West Middle school which may be creating safety hazards. The West side of Crestline is still being allowed as a place that southbound auto traffic can stop for school pick-up, causing southbound traffic to enter the northbound lane to get around parked cars. A communication is being provided to parents of West students.

    • Purchasing prepaid photocopies: Paper leaflets informing residents of the annual SHNA membership meeting for 2019 will be distributed in March. This practice typically boosts attendance at this meeting as well as membership. 2000 paper copies are needed.
      • Group votes unanimously to pre-purchase copy credits.
    • Centennial Park cleanup: Will this Tri-annual event be applied for in 2019? Boy and Girl Scout volunteers discussed. Discussion of publishing names of participants in the newsletter.
      • Vote to sponsor 2019 Centennial Park cleanup passes unanimously.
    • New Neighbor Packets: EC members volunteer to distribute 29 new neighbor packets.
    • Joan Stone recognized and thanked for her contribution to the SH Applause awards. September newsletter will call for nominations.
  • New agenda items from participants: Next Meeting, Monday, December 10 at 6pm.
