Applause Award Winners, 2021

We have a great cadre of AA winners in 2021! Congratulations to the owners of these homes and to everyone who worked hard this year to improve their homes and our neighborhood.

2211 Willow Creek

Their renovation work has been going on for months: extensive landscaping, including drainage work; a newly poured driveway and new plantings, recent exterior siding features a deep colonial blue color with white trim around the windows and shutters.  Updated house numbers and lighting.  The overall effect is clean and sharp.

2211 Westdale Road

A classic, casual look that never lets you down – and never goes out of style. I grew up in a ranch style home and have always been fond of this traditional style. 2213 Westdale is painted a crisp white with black trim – striking and sets off the brick accent wall. The glass block window is a nice architectural feature inside and out. Love the rain chain, exterior light fixture, and house numbers. The comfortable front facing seating area is ready for a friendly conversation with neighbors.

2704 University Drive

Several new elements combine to make this home is so appealing! An unexpected dash of color with a turquoise front door, new modern vertical fence, updated paint, large colorful house numbers and an attractive entry light. The white rock beds contrast with the gray house and pulls the whole package together.

2504 Century Drive

Charming and attractive new cedar gable with house numbers on a matching cedar background. Fun, modern cedar post cable railing frames the front of the house, giving definition without crowding. Fresh charcoal color paint. Matching wood chairs are a nice touch. The flamingos nesting in the front bed are the best!

3062 W 8th Street

What is mid-century modern architecture, really? 3062 W 8th Street is a good example. The red and white house with the architectural block screen car port wall sits proudly on the corner of Lawrence Avenue and 8th Street – the color contrast draws your attention and is a delight! A creative driftwood sculpture (complete with blackbird) is featured on the corner near the sidewalk, the art display often has a seasonal theme. This house has character and makes you happy.

1012 Holiday Drive

A beautiful landscape with curved retaining walls sweeps through the front yard. A wide front porch style deck is comfortable and a warm welcome. Newer front door and garage doors accent a pleasant forest green house color paired with a white trim. A sprinkling of holiday decorating is inviting.

730 Lawrence Avenue

The color scheme of subtle hues is trendy and stylish on this contemporary ranch home. A cozy front patio creates a friendly outdoor living area, with the creative combination of antiques and patio furniture which greet guests and highlight the home. Add in a couple of pumpkins – altogether makes an attractive front entry.

1028 Rogers Place

Color plays a huge part to your homes appearance and how well it complements the architecture. The deep brown color is both classic and contemporary. A newer front entry with angles to match the architecture of the house is a great combination. An artistic peace pole dresses up the front bed. A fresh driveway and newer garage doors blend everything together so nice.
